As a fire continues in a warehouse in Boyle Heights for a seventh day, residents of the area share their experiences after being personally affected by it.

Drums, cheers and chants of “Sí, se puede!” were echoed all throughout todays match between Ecuador and Germany in which Ecuadorians roared with emotion to see them defeat Germany in a score of 2-1 in the World Cup.

Fans gathered at @boomtownbrewery, which has become a place of community for Ecuadorians in the Los Angeles area. The brewery was filled with empanadas, yellow-blue-red flags and many fans cheering on Ecuador.

We met up with K-Pop artist @its_kimsamuel at @mdcdance in Studio City to talk about his most recent record, "Samuelito," an integration of his cultures with singing in Korean, Spanish and English.

He shared what it was like growing up in L.A. and his approach to integrating his style of dance into his music.

Criterion and the L.A. Phil celebrated the filmography of renowned filmmaker Wes Anderson with a concert and interactive pop-up at the Hollywood Bowl from July 10 to 12.

Body care shop @earthycorazon in City Terrace closed its doors on July 26. Owner Ely Valdivia said the business had become financially unstable after four years of being open. She hosted a final-day party, gathering the community just as she had always tried to do through her shop.

In midst of the earthquakes in Venezuela this past week, Venezuelan restaurants in L.A. are uniting to provide a form of community for those affected.

Restaurants like @fullarepaskekally in DTLA and @novabakerylb in Long Beach, have opened their doors to allow people to drop-off donations and canned goods that will make its way to the people affected in Venezuela.

Bars on Second Street in Belmont Shore are participating in the voluntary midnight curfew for 30 days. There are four popular bars within four blocks on Second Street: Shannon’s Bayshore Saloon, Dogz Bar & Grill, Legends Restaurant & Sports Bar and Panama Joe’s.
