American political activist Charlie Kirk, known for challenging college students on controversial political issues, drew crowds of students and outsiders to Long Beach State on Monday, May 5.

Kirk’s appearance at Long Beach State sparked lively debates on controversial political issues, drawing passionate supporters and a diverse audience eager to engage in the discussions.

US Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders hosted his second part of his Fighting Oligarchy tour on the streets of Downtown Los Angeles with Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and musical guests Joan Baez and Neil Young on April 12.

Tensions flared near the CSULB Bookstore on Feb. 10 as anti-abortion activists displayed graphic imagery, sparking heated confrontations with students and leading to police intervention.

Long Beach State student protesters organized together to march from the Central Quad to Brotman Hall in an effort to protest for several matters including CSULB to divest, opposing ICE on campus, reducing budget cuts for education and other action calls. Protesters visited President Conoley’s office during this march to deliver these demands on March 26.

In opinions, arts and life assistant Diego Renteria speaks about the recent visits to campus from outsiders promoting their inflammatory views. Renteria states that CSULB officials need to take action before the attacks on our safe space cause irreversible damage.

Jaylyn Preslicka, solutions editor at the Long Beach Current, asked 20 students on campus to share their experiences with the Counseling and Psychological Services provided by CSULB. Six students shared their perceptions, personal encounters with using CAPS, and other stories.
